Bearing Material
Hardness on bearing materials utilized on races and balls is essential; in addition, the following criteria are also emphasized on:
A. When a large load is applied, a high limit of elasticity and high yield strength are important to prevent possible permanent deformation.
B. High strength to against cracking when heavy impact loan or other failures caused by improper fitting, mishandling, …etc.
C. Large fatigue strength to against repeated stress when fatigue happens to the racing surface.
D. High abrasion resistance to against the sliding friction between retainer and balls.
E. Limited secular changes in dimension and shape due to structural change and internal component stress.
Materials of bearing components are also subject to application. The normal materials being used on bearings and their temperature ranges are listed as follow:
Standard Tolerances for Deep Groeve Ball Bearings
Most of C&S bearings are manufactured as ABEC-1 standard in dimension tolerances and run-out accuracy.
Yet, C&S Bearing is able to produce up to ABEC-5 upon request. The tolerance grades correspond with respect to those of precision standards, which are adopted by the International Standard Organization (ISO 492).
CSR currently carries ABEC-1, 3, and 5-grade bearings. For inquiries on other grade bearings, please call.

Lubricant
Standard C&S Bearings are packed with specifications in sealed or shielded bearings. The standard filling of grease is approximately 35%.
The lubricants for our current inventory includes Alvania #2, Chevron SRI #2, and Mobile EM Polyrex grease.
